Editorial fixture / not a published article
A pause is not the absence of design. It is a decision about what deserves to remain visible.
New synthetic writing for private review. No publication date, owner biography, client result or unavailable video is implied.
Chapter 01
Before the next thing
Imagine an image entering a page, finding its position and then simply staying there. The eye has enough time to notice a detail that was not part of the transition.
A transition explains how one state becomes another. A held state explains why the second state matters. When every surface continues to move, those jobs can become difficult to distinguish.

Chapter 02
A surface, not a spectacle
An interactive image introduces a different kind of time. Its change can depend on the reader rather than a fixed sequence.
The response is useful only when the image remains an image, the field returns to rest and the caption stays readable.
Chapter 03
What can remain
Reduced motion asks which parts of the page carry meaning when movement stops. The title, selected view and subject must remain legible.
Keep what can be read. Identify what has not been proved. Let the next action belong to the reader.
